Over a hundred years ago Jules Vandenbroucke picked up pieces and debris from a land that was shot to pieces and out of these chunks he built a sawing mill driven by steam power. Wood became his vocation and as business started to thrive he figured everything was fine and carried on. 40 kilometers to the east another family built a house out of pieces and debris on the torn ground of West-Flanders. This was a family of carpenters, who also had made their vocation out of wood. The great-great-grandson that came out of the union of these two families is now once again staring up at the trees and wondering what vocation should sustain him and what he has to do with all the pieces and debris that surround him.
